Teamwork & Teamplay

Two of my favourite activities from, Teamwork & Teamplay, by Jim Cain and Barry Jollif, are the Lycra Tube and Bull Write.  There is also a website connected to the book.  They have downloadable articles, activities, and information on their site.  You can click on the book cover below to access their site.

The picture below shows some people in a lycra tube.  Our board has a lycra tube at the IMC that you can sign out.  It comes with a list of activities that you can try with it, to get started. 

The picture below is bullring.  A metal ring has 10 to 16 strings/yarn attached to it.  People spread out in a circle around an object and have to move it.  The adaptation that I use is bull write (which is described in the book).  It has a marker attached to the ring in the middle.  I tape a couple pieces of chart paper to the floor and then we spread out in a complete circle around the marker, at the ends of the strings/yarn and try to create images/words with the marker.
