Grade 10 History - 1920's

Here is an article and questions I used in Grade 10 Applied History as part of our study on the 1920's.  It is about the League of Indians and Frederick Loft.  This is an interesting piece to use after WWI, as it gets into discussions about how First Nations veterans were denied the same rights as other Canadian veterans.  It also opens the door to talking about sovereignty and nationhood.  The country of Canada was trying to develop its own independently functioning nation, while many nations governed by First Nations peoples (for example the Haudensaunee Confederacy in what is now southern Ontario and New York) were working to maintain and uphold their own nationhood and sovereignty.  I have other articles and activities about the Haudensaunee Confederacy.  Let me know if you're interested in those.  Click on the pictures below to link to the article and questions about the League of Indians and Frederick Loft.
